This card was released as a Cosmos Holofoil XY Black Star Promotional card in the BREAKpoint Single Pack Blisters. In Japan, it was released as part of a promotion with 7/11. A special bento box set could be pre-ordered between June 22 and July 28, and picked up between July 18 and August 8 2015, at participating 7/11 stores nationwide for ¥1,371. The set came with a reusable Pikachu face bento box complete with the pre-ordered lunch inside, reusable Pikachu chopsticks, a special Pikachu patterned handkerchief wrap, and the promo card itself.
